Among these are ESA's EnVision mission, and NASA's VERITAS and DAVINCI missions. VERITAS aims to map Venus' surface with unprecedented detail, using emissivity, radar and radio science investigations to uncover its geological history and tectonic activity, potentially revealing why Venus evolved so differently from Earth. Meanwhile, DAVINCI will focus on the atmosphere, descending through the thick clouds to study the planet's chemical composition and provide critical insights into how its climate became so hostile.
EnVision will complement and bring together these efforts by examining Venus' atmosphere and surface interactions with an unprecedented holistic approach, helping to piece together the planet's environmental evolution and potential volcanic activity.
